Hudepohl's Career Highs Lead Tartans Against Waynesburg

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - Junior Jackie Hudepohl (Saratoga, Calif./Lynbrook (Colgate)) recorded career highs in points and rebounds as the Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team defeated Waynesburg University, 82-56, Tuesday, November 24. The Tartans are now 4-0 on the season.

Once again the Tartans started hot and shot 60.5% for the first half to lead 50-32. The second quarter witnessed the Tartans extend a three-point first quarter lead thanks to seven made field goals by Hudepohl who had 18 points at the break.

In the third quarter, the Tartans pounded the ball inside and scored 16 of their 21 points in the paint. Waynesburg struggled from the three-point arc, making just 2-of-7 for the period and the Tartans rebounded, limiting the Yellow Jackets' opportunities for second chance points.

Junior Lisa Murphy (McLean, Va./McLean) and Hudepohl accounted for 10 of the Tartans 11 fourth quarter points as they both finished with 28 points for the night. Hudepohl also led with 17 rebounds while Murphy blocked seven shots. Freshman Jenn Mayberger (Chesterfield, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) tallied another seven assists to maintain her average of 7.0 assists a game.

The Tartans will next be in action on Monday, November 30 at home against La Roche College at 6:00 p.m.
