Filiere and Weslock Earn Women’s Basketball All-UAA Recognition

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Two Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball players were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches this week when the Association announced the 2018-19 All-UAA Women's Basketball Team. Junior Makayla Filiere (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) and freshman Leah Weslock (Howell, Mich./Howell) were both named honorable mention following their performances throughout the year for the 12-13 Tartans.

Filiere's honor marks her second straight by the league's coaches, as she was on the second team a year ago. This year, the junior led the Tartans by scoring 10.0 points per game while shooting 41.1% from the floor. She was second on the team in assists per game with 2.1.
