Women’s Golf Places Fifth at Grove City Invitational

(GROVE CITY, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed in the Grove City College Invitational on Monday, April 14 and placed fifth with at team score of 438.  The 18-hole event was held at the Grove City Country Club.
    
Clarion University won the event with a team score of 376 with Point Park University shooting a 383 to place second.  The host Wolverines finished the afternoon with a team score of 387 to place third while Westminster College shot a 418 followed by the Tartans. Rounding out the field were Thiel College (448) and Waynesburg University (561).

Senior Ali Nichols (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) led Carnegie Mellon with a 91, as she finished fourth individually out of 37 golfers. Junior Brooke Kuei (East Brunswick, N.J.) carded a 100, as sophomore Yoon Hee Ha (Tigard, Ore.) entered the clubhouse with a 102.  Also competing for the Tartans was freshman Molly Higgins (Vero Beach, Fla.).

This concludes Carnegie Mellon's inaugural season as club team status.  The start of the 2014-15 season the Tartans will be competing at the intercollegiate level.
