Kitahara Leads Tartans to Victory at Thiel College Invitational

(HERMITAGE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team won its second straight invitational on Saturday, September 13.  The Tartans won the Thiel College Invitational with a score of 341.  The 18-hole event was held at the Tam O'Shanter Golf Course in Hermitage, Pa.

The Tartans top golfer was freshman Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day), as she fired at five-over par 77 to record her second consecutive individual medalist honor. Freshman Robin Tan (Austin, Texas/Westlake) finished three strokes back with an 80 to place second.

Freshman Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill.) shot an 88 while freshmen Diana Zhou (Diamond Bar, Calif.) and Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) carded rounds of 96 and 101, respectively.

Carnegie Mellon will be back on the links on Tuesday, September 16 at the Saint Vincent Invitational held at the Glengarry Golf Links in Latrobe, Pa.
