Kitahara Garners UAA Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Freshman Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Golf Athlete of the Week after claiming two individual medalist honors last week.
    
Kitahara two victories helped guide the Tartans to the program's first two ever tournament titles. On Tuesday, Kitahara finished the par-72 Grove City Country Club course with a 79 to earn her first medalist honor of the year. On Saturday, she followed it with a career-best 77 at the Tam O'Shanter Golf Course in Hermitage, Pa., as the Tartans won their second tournament of the year, at the Thiel College Invitational.

Kitahara has a scoring average of 80.7 after three rounds.
