Women’s Golf Competes at First Round of Jekyll Island Invitational
(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf competed at the first day of the three-day, 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Following the first 18 holes, the Tartans sit in a tie for 12th place after carding a team score of 346 Friday, March 13 on the par-72, 5,801-yard course.
Freshman Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) carded a round of 82 to lead the Tartans on Friday afternoon, as she is tied for 17th. Freshman Robin Tan (Austin, Texas/Westlake) and Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) fired rounds of 84 and 86, respectively.
Freshman Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) finished the day with a 94 while first-year Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) entered the clubhouse with a 106.
Playing as an individual, freshman Diana Zhou (Diamond Bar, Calif.) carded a 116.
The second round of the event will be held Saturday, March 14 with the first group teeing off at 8:00 a.m.
