Women’s Golf at Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf competed in the second round of the three-day, 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia, Saturday, March 14. The Tartans are currently in 14th place after 36-holes of play with a two-round total of 700 (346-354) on the par-72, 5,801-yard course.

For the second straight day, freshman Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) led the Tartans.  Kitahara fired a seven-over-par 79 for a two-round total of 161 which puts her in a tie for 15th individually heading into the final round.  Freshman Robin Tan (Austin, Texas/Westlake) and Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) finished Saturday with a 36-hole total of 168 (84-84) and 180 (86-94).

Freshman Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) carded a 97 Saturday to give her a 191 for the tournament while freshman Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) improved five strokes from Friday's round to shoot a 101 and has a two-round score of207.

Playing as an individual, freshman Diana Zhou (Diamond Bar, Calif.) has a 36-hole total of 223 (118-105).

The final round of the event will be held Sunday, March 15 with the first group teeing off at 8:00 a.m.
