Women’s Golf Wins Westminster Spring Invitational

(NEW CASTLE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed at the Westminster Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 11.  The 18-hole event was held at New Castle Country Club.  The Tartans placed first out of eight teams after firing a team score of 370.  The team victory marked the fourth this year for the Tartans.

Freshman Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) finished second individually, as she entered the clubhouse with an 82. Classmates Robin Tan (Austin, Texas/Westlake) and Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill.) carded rounds of 93 and 94, respectively.  Freshman Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) ended the day with a 101 while freshman Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) shot a 102.

Carnegie Mellon will be back on the links on Tuesday, April 14 at the Saint Vincent Spring Invitational held at the Glengarry Golf Links in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.  In September, the Tartans shot a team score of 334 at Glengarry to win the Saint Vincent Fall Invitational.
