Women’s Golf Places Fifth at Allegheny Invitational

(MEADVILLE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team improved 13 strokes on the second day of the 2015 Allegheny College Invitational to finish fifth out of nine teams.  The 36-hole evented was hosted at the par 73 Country Club of Meadville.  The Tartans finished with a team score of 719 (366-353).
    
Sophomore Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) led the Tartans with a 164 (80-84) to place sixth individually.   On Monday, senior Yoon Hee Ha (Tigard, Ore.) topped her career-best opening round score and fired a 90 to end the 36-hole event with a 183.

Freshman Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) finished with a 188 (95-93).  Sophomore Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) improved 22 strokes on day two ending with a 194 (108-86) while fellow classmate Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) ended the invitational with a 208 (98-110).

The Tartans had one individual enter the invitational, as Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) shot a 213 (108-105).

Carnegie Mellon will travel to Lexington, Virginia on October 5-6 to play in the Generals Invitational.  The two-day event is being held the Lexington Golf & Country Club.
