Women’s Golf Cards Team Record at Generals Invitational

(LEXINGTON, Va.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team placed third at the Generals Invitational hosted by Washington & Lee University Tuesday, October 6.  The Tartans shot a 675 (344-331) at the Lexington Country Club.  The two-round score of 675 is the best in the programs young history.  The host Generals won the invitational with a score of 625 (317-308).

Sophomore Robin Tan (Austin, Texas/Westlake) led the Tartans with a 163 after carding rounds of 79 and 84.   Sophomore Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) improved 14 strokes on Tuesday and shot a four-over par 78 to finish the invitational with a 170.  One stroke behind Kitahara was freshman Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) with a 171 (89-82). Sophomore Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) ended the event with a 177 (84-93) while senior Yoon Hee Ha (Tigard, Ore.) improved 10 strokes in the second round to shoot a 184 (97-87.  Her round of 87 marked a personal-best.

The Tartans had two individuals enter the invitational, as sophomores Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) and Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) both had a 36-hole score of 206. Glass shot rounds of 104 and 102 while Tseng carded a 101 Tuesday and a 105 Monday.
