Women’s Golf in Fourth After First Round of NYU Fall Invitational

(BLOOMFIELD, N.J.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team opened play at the New York University Fall Invitational on Saturday, October 15. The Tartans currently are in fourth-place in a field of nine teams after carding a 334. The 36-hole invitational is being played at the par 72 Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Williams College leads the field after shooting a 321.

Sophomore Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) led the Cardinal and Gray with a season-best round of 80. Freshman Lavonca Davis (Pickerington, Ohio) carded an 82 while junior Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) entered the clubhouse with an 85.

Junior Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill.) and freshman Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho) both end play Saturday with rounds of 87.    

The Tartans had two individuals enter the invitational, as junior Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) shot a 91 and classmate Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) carded a 98.

Play continues Sunday morning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
