Women’s Golf Opens Play at Wooster Invitational

(JEROMESVILLE, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team closed the opening round of the Wooster Spring Invitational in second place on Saturday, April 15 after carding a 324. The 36-hole event is being played at the par-72, 5803-yard Mohican Hills Golf Club in Jeromesville, Ohio. The host, Wooster, leads the field with a 319.

Junior Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) and sophomore Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) are tied for fourth individually in a field of 38 golfers, as both entered the clubhouse with a 79.

Junior Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill.) carded an 81 while freshman Lavonca Davis (Pickerington, Ohio) finished play with an 85. Freshman Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho) shot an 87.
    
Carnegie Mellon had two individuals enter the invite; freshman Sanchi Gupta (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) fired an 84 and junior Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) ended play Saturday with a 99.    

Round two continues Sunday, April 16 with a shotgun start set for 9:00 a.m.
