Individuals Compete at Allegheny Invitational

(MEADVILLE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf had individuals compete at the 2019 Allegheny College Invitational Sunday and Monday. The two-day event was hosted at the par 72 Country Club of Meadville.

Freshman Michelle Cao (Johns Creek, Ga. / Northview) was the top Tartan, as she placed third individually with a 36-hole score of 164. Cao started the event with 79 and then shot an 85 on Monday. Classmate Michell Koo (Scottsdale, Ariz. / BASIS Scottsdale Charter) carded rounds of 83 and 82 for a 165 and placed fifth.

Senior Sanchi Gupta (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) ended play with a 184 after improving eight strokes on Monday to card rounds of 96 and 88. Fellow senior Lavonca Davis (Pickerington, Ohio) participated in the round on Monday and carded an 83.

Carnegie Mellon will host the Tartan Invitational on October 7-8. The event will be played at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pennsylvania.
