Tartan Women’s Golf Releases 2020-21 Roster

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – While the 2020-21 season has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carnegie Mellon University head women's golf coach Dan Rodgers, in his seventh year at the helm of the Tartans, has released the roster for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Below are a few facts about the makeup of the 11-member women's golf team.

Class Years: Seniors (1); Juniors (3); Sophomores (3); Newcomers (4)

Natives Of: Arizona (1); California (2); China (1); Georgia (1); Indonesia (1); Maryland (1); New Jersey (1); North Carolina (1); Taiwan (1); Texas (1)

College of Study: College of Fine Arts (1); College of Engineering (1); Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences (1); School of Computer Science (2); Tepper School of Business (6)

Notes:

  • The Tartans earned the top position in the final 2019-20 Division III national rankings by Golfstat. The number one ranking was the first for a women's team sport at Carnegie Mellon.
  • Three golfers were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Great Lakes Region Team with all three on this year's roster: Charlotte Simpson, Alexis Sudjianto and Nadia Susanto
  • Following the 2019-20 season, Charlotte Simpson, Alexis Sudjianto and Nadia Susanto all were named All-Americans becoming the first in program history. Sudjianto received first team accolades with Simpson landing a spot on the second team and Susanto being recognized as honorable mention.
  • Four players were named to the All-UAA Team last season with all on the current roster: Michelle Cao, Charlotte Simpson, Alexis Sudjianto and Nadia Susanto
  • Alexis Sudjianto was named UAA Women's Golfer of the Year and Rookie of the Year last season. She became the first Tartan to receive UAA Player of the Year accolades and the third to garner UAA Rookie of the Year.
  • Five members were named to the 2019-20 WGCA All-American Scholar Team with four on current roster: Michelle Cao, Michelle Koo, Charlotte Simpson and Nadia Susanto
  • The Tartans won three of its four tournaments in 2019-20, including the Golfweek Fall Invitational where they broke both the 54-hole school scoring record (908) and the 18-hole team scoring record (296).
  • Head coach Dan Rodgers was named the 2019-20 Division III Women's Golf Pride Grips National Coach of the Year.
