Sudjianto led the Tartans in the opening round of Jekyll Island

Sudjianto Records Program's First Hole-In-One as Tartans Sit in Third After Opening Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed at the first day of the three-day, 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia, on Friday. The Tartans are currently third in a 16-team field, after carding a team score of 315 Friday on the par-72, 5,801-yard course.

Sophomore Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) led the Cardinal and Gray on Friday, as she recorded the program's first ever hole-in-one and finished the round with a four-over par 76 and is fifth individually in a field of 82 golfers. Sudjianto's ace came on the 145-yard, par 3 second hole.

Senior Charlotte Simpson (Towson, Md./Bryn Mawr School) ended play Friday a stroke behind Sudjianto with a 77 and is tied for sixth individually. Freshman Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School), making her collegiate debut, carded a 79.

Junior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) shot an 83 while sophomore Michelle Koo (Scottsdale, Ariz./BASIS Scottsdale Charter) finished play with an 89.

The second round of the event will be held Saturday, March 20 with the first group teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
