Tartans Tied for Third After Second Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf competed at the second round of the 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia, on Saturday. The Tartans fired a team score of 315 and are tied for third after 36-holes of play with a two-round total of 630 (315-315). The three-day, 16-team event is being played on the par-72, 5,801-yard Indian Mounds Golf Club on Jekyll Island.

Freshman Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) carded a two-over par 74 on Saturday to lead the Tartans. Pan has a 36-hole score of 153 (79-74) and is tied for seventh individually in a field of 82 golfers. Sophomore Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) leads the Tartans with a 151 (76-75) after firing a three-over par 75 in the second round of play and is currently tied for fourth.

Senior Charlotte Simpson (Towson, Md./Bryn Mawr School) fired an 82 and has a 159 (77-82). Junior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) has a 36-hole score of 167 (83-84) and sophomore Michelle Koo (Scottsdale, Ariz./BASIS Scottsdale Charter) has a 190 (89-101).

The third round of the event will be held Sunday, March 21 with the first group teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
