Sudjianto helps Tartans to third place

Tartans Finish Third at Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team closed play at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Sunday. The Tartans finished third with a three-round total of 953 (315-315-323) on the par-72, 5,801-yard course at the Indian Mounds Golf Club on Jekyll Island. The 54-hole tournament was comprised of 16 Division III teams with Methodist University winning the event.

Freshman Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) shot a five-over par 77 Sunday and finished with a 230 (79-74-77) to lead the Tartans over the weekend. In her first collegiate event, Pan tied for fourth individually in a field of 82 golfers.

Sophomore Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) ended with a 234 (76-75-83) and placed sixth. Senior Charlotte Simpson (Towson, Md./Bryn Mawr School) carded a 240 (77-82-81) over the 54-hole event.

Junior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) ended the tournament with 249 (83-84-82) while sophomore Michelle Koo (Scottsdale, Ariz./BASIS Scottsdale Charter) carded a 297 (89-101-107).

The Tartans will return to the links April 2 at the Golfweek Invitational held at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
