Tartans Break School Record; Finish Third at 2021 Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational

(MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team completed play at the 2021 Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon and placed third in a field of 20 teams after carding a 293 in the final round. The Tartans ended the 54-hole hole event with a three-round school record score of 902 (310-299-293) which was played on the 5,603-yard, par 72 course at the Baytowne Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida. The old record was 908 set two years ago at the same event.

Emory University won the event with an 899 (306-297-296). Sharon Mun of Emory also claimed individual medalist honors with a three-over par 219 (77-69-73).

Freshman Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) shot her best round of the 54-hole event on Tuesday with a one-under par 71 to lead the Tartans. Mupparaju placed ninth individually in a field of 108 golfers with a 225 (81-73-71), which is the second lowest 54-hole score in program history.

Junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) and freshman Kaylin Yeoh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) tied for 12th with a three-round score of 226. Sudjianto posted rounds of 75, 75 and 76 while Yeoh carded rounds of 76, 74 and 76.

Freshman Reeya Vasishta (Mountain View, Calif./Mountain View) and senior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) entered the clubhouse on Tuesday with their best rounds of the event, as both shot one-over par 73. Vasishta ended with a 228 (78-77-73) with Susanto finishing with a 235 (84-78-73).

The Tartans will be off until the spring when they compete in the Savannah Invitational at The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Georgia March 7-8.
