Tartans in a Fourth-Place Tie After Opening Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf competed at the first day of the three-day, 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia, on Friday. The Tartans are currently tied for fourth in a field of 24 teams after carding a team score of 299 Friday on the par-72, 5,600-yard course.

Senior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) led the Tartans tying a career-low round of even par 72 on Friday and currently is tied for eighth individually in a field of 120 golfers.

Junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) ended play a stroke behind Susanto with a one-over par 73. Freshman Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) fired 75 while freshman Kaylin Yeoh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) and sophomore Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) each concluded play Friday with a 77.

The second round of the event will be held Saturday, March 19, with the Tartans teeing off at 8:45 a.m.
