Tartans Finish Third at Jekyll Island Collegiate, Set School Record for Lowest 54-hole Score

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team closed play at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Sunday. The Tartans placed third in the 24-team field with a three-round total of 897 (299-300-298) on the par-72, 5,600-yard course at the Indian Mounds Golf Club on Jekyll Island. The Tartans' 897 is the best 54-hole tournament score in the program history.

For the second round in the 54-hole event, senior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) led the Tartans. On Sunday, the senior posted a round of one-over par 73 and eagled hole 17. She finishes with a 54-hole score of 220 (72-75-73) and tied for 10th individually in a field of 120 golfers. Susanto's 220 is the second lowest individual 54-hole tournament score in the program history.

Junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) carded a 78 for the final round and had a 222 (73-71-78) while freshman Kaylin Yeoh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) entered the clubhouse Sunday with a one-over par 73 for a 226 (77-74-73). Sudjianto's 54-hole score is the third lowest in program history and Yeoh's ties for fourth.

Freshman Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) and sophomore Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) each fired a round of 76 the final day. Mupparaju ended with a 231 (75-80-76) and Pan shot a 236 (77-84-76) over the three-day event.

The Tartans are now off until April 11th when the begin play at the two-day Birmingham-Southern Classic.
