Tartans Pick Up 1-0 Road Victory at #23 New York University

(RIVERDALE, N.Y.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team traveled to New York University for a Saturday morning match against the 23rd-ranked Violets. The Tartans came away with a 1-0 victory to move its University Athletic Association (UAA) record to 1-1 and overall mark to 7-3-1.

The win was the Tartans fourth straight against the Violets and third straight 1-0 win.

Junior Haili Adams (Kirkland, Wash./Juanita) was the goal scorer for the Tartans as she fired a shot from 20 yards deep to beat the keeper for her sixth goal of the year in the 52nd minute. Junior Sienna Stritter (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo School) was credited with the assist after feeding Adams the pass.

The Tartans registered six shots in the first period with one on goal before putting seven of eight shots on frame in the second half, including the game winner by Adams.

Freshman Mia Keyser (Anchorage, Alaska/West Anchorage) made three saves in net for the Tartans on her way to her second career victory.

The Tartans will remain on the road for their next three contests and will take the field again on Friday, October 14 at 5:00 p.m. at the University of Rochester.
