No. 16 Tartans Fall in Tough Road Contest, 1-0

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team traveled to Rochester, New York, for a non-conference match against Nazareth College on Saturday, October 22. The 16th-ranked Tartans were unable to finish their opportunities and fell to the Golden Flyers, 1-0. The Tartans are now 9-4-1 on the year while Nazareth improves to 12-2-2.

The Tartans put eight shots on goal in the first half but each attempt was saved by Allison Dobles in goal for the Golden Flyers.

Minutes into the second half, Nazareth scored the go-ahead goal when Laura Herman scored her sixth goal of the season off an assist by Michaela Soules.

The Tartans had another four shots stopped by Dobles in the second half but couldn't equalize.

Carnegie Mellon will next host Washington University in St. Louis on Friday, October 28 at 5:00 p.m. as the program welcomes back alumni to celebrate the 25th anniversary of varsity competition.
