Tartans Rally for 2-2 Tie on the Road Against Denison

(GRANVILLE, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team took to the road for the first time this season at Denison University on Saturday, September 7. The Big Red struck first but the Tartans equalized in the second half to force a tie and move to 1-1-1 for the year.

Late in the first period, Abby King of Denison got a shot past junior Carolyn Botz (St. Louis, Mo. / MICDS) and then the Big Red took a 2-0 lead within the first six minutes of the second half when Claire Kolff scored against senior Andrea Sipos (Bel Air, Md. / Bel Air).

Tartan junio Abby Kuznick (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) scored her first goal of the season in the 62nd minute to cut the deficit in half. Seventeen minutes later, freshman Allie Hunter (Pleasanton, Calif. / Amador Valley) put in her first career score to tie the match.

The Tartans put five other shots on goal in the second half and then another two in 20 minutes of overtime but were unable to get the game winner.
