Adams Pulls in UAA Athlete of the Week Award

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer freshman Alex Adams (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week after helping the 24th-ranked Tartans win in double overtime against visiting Nazareth College on Sunday.

Adams scored the game-winning goal for the Tartans in the second overtime period with just more than six minutes remaining. The freshman also assisted on the first goal of the game and had six shots on goal with a seventh shot hitting the crossbar. Adams now has six game-winning goals and 10 goals for the season. Nazareth came in with a 9-3-2 record and ranked 5th in the region.

Now ranked 23rd, the Tartans will return to UAA play on Friday, November 1 when they visit third-ranked Washington University in St. Louis at 5:30 p.m. CT. The team will then face 12th-ranked University of Chicago on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. CT.
