Adams Earns Second UAA Athlete of the Week Award

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer freshman Alex Adams (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week after helping the 25th-ranked Tartans win twice in the NCAA tournament. The honor is the second of the season for the freshman who was also named to the All-UAA First Team.

Adams scored two goals and assisted on three, as the Tartans won twice at home in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship tournament to advance to the round of 16 for the fifth time in school history. With her point total of the week, the freshman tied the school record with 32 season points. Her 13 goals for the season is a freshman record and one shy of the tying the season record. She assisted on both games winners in 7-0 and 1-0 victories and scored the second and third goals in the 7-0 win against Cairn in the first round.

The Tartans continue action in the NCAA tournament against 10th-ranked Ohio Northern University on Friday, November 22 at 3:30 p.m. CT at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
