Adams Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Junior forward Alex Adams (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) has been named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for her efforts in the Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team's 7-0 win against Penn State Altoona at home on Saturday, October 23. The award is the first for the Tartans this season.

Adams recorded her third game-winning goal of the season and first career hat trick in the victory. The first goal of the game came in the ninth minute after Adams' first shot attempt was wide. Her second goal came in the second minute of the second half when she pounced on a rebounded shot to make it 5-0. The final goal of the game for Adams came in the 59th minute and made the score 6-0. The three scores in one game marks the fourth multi-goal game for Adams this season. The junior leads the team with 10 goals.

The 16th-ranked Tartans return to action on Friday, October 29 at 5:00 p.m. when third-ranked Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) visits Pittsburgh. The Bears are 4-0 in conference play while the Tartans are 2-1-1.
