Adams, Hasson Honored by United Soccer Coaches as All-Region

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – A pair of Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer players were honored on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team when the association announced their awards this week. Junior Alex Adams (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) is a repeat honoree on the first team for Region VII with junior Nikki Hasson (Torrance, Calif. / California Academy of Mathematics and Science) being honored on the third team team for the first time.

Adams finished the regular season as the team leader in goals scored with 11 and scored her fourth career NCAA playoff goal with a tally in the NCAA Division III Women's Sectional Semifinal against eighth-ranked MIT. Adams is a two-time All-Region honoree and two-time University Athletic Association (UAA) First Team awardee.

Hasson is a first-time honoree by both the regional coaches and the UAA coaches this season. As a central defender, Hasson led the defense that surrendered just seven goals against during the regular season and 10 for the entire 20-game schedule. The team finished with a .49 goals against average and recorded 12 shutouts.

This is the second straight year the Tartans had two players named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team as Adams was joined by junior Rachel Legg (Kansas City, Mo. / Pembroke Hill) on the team in 2019.
