Wang Sets School Record at NCAA Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women swimmers continued action at the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, March 21. Two individuals just missed making the finals as both finished 17th during the preliminaries.

Sophomore Felicia Wang (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) set a new school record in the 100-yard breaststroke when she touched in 1:04.99 to finish 17th by .07 seconds. Senior Megan Garvey (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) also had a 17th-place performance as she touched in 2:06.52 in the 200-yard butterfly.

Freshman Gillian Crews (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) also swam in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing 24th in 2:07.54 while sophomore Kira Singhaus (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) swam the 100-yard backstroke in 58.25 to finish 33rd.

The last day of competition will be on Saturday, March 22.
