Kaku Earns ECAC South Diver of the Week

(DANBURY, Conn.) - Carnegie Mellon University junior diver Machika Kaku (Irvine, Calif./University) was named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Diver of the Week for her accomplishments on Saturday during the Tartans' meet at Westminster College.

Kaku helped the Tartans remain undefeated in dual meet action, as the team defeated Westminster College, 229-70, and SUNY Geneseo, 192-107. Kaku won both the 1-meter and 3-meter events with season-best scores after six dives. She tallied 245.20 points on the 1-meter and 261.40 on the 3-meter.

The next date of competition for the diving team will be January 23 at Denison University. The meet is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
