Hochstedler, Widmayer Named UAA Athletes of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior swimmer Kim Hochstedler (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) and freshman diver Lillie Widmayer (Old Bridge, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro) were named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athletes of the Week for women's swimming and diving this week.

Hochstedler increased her season best times in both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events when the Tartans topped Grove City College, 215-46, and Washington and Lee University, 190-71. She won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:06.39 which is first in the UAA and eighth nationally. In the 200-yard breaststroke, she just missed a pool record when she was out-touched by Washington and Lee's Emily Hageboeck by two tenths of a second. Her time of 2:21.93 is also first in the UAA and is fifth nationally.

Widmayer had her best outing in the diving well with a first-place finish on the 3-meter and a third-place finish on the 1-meter. Her point total on the 3-meter was 224.03 while she earned 195.45 points on the 1-meter.

Up next for the Tartans is the home diving invitational on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18 before the team breaks for Thanksgiving.
