Tartans Fall in Home Dual Meet with Washington and Lee

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team hosted Washington and Lee University on Saturday, November 10 for its only home meet of the season, falling to the Generals, 149-113.

Highlights for the Tartans include wins in four events.

Junior Taylor Brown (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) was a double winner for the Tartans, touching first in both the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:48.18 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:17.41.

Sophomore Megan Christy (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:58.84.

Sophomore Jessica Chau (Ridgewood, N.J. / Ridgewood) picked up a victory in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:07.14 with junior Teagan Goforth (Portland, Ore. / Tualatin) touching second in 2:09.94.

In diving, although not scored for the meet, sophomore Maddie Mianzo (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) had the high score on the 1-meter board with 289.65 points and on the 3-meter board with 285.08 points, both season bests.

The Tartans will be back in action with a home diving invitational on November 16 and 17 before traveling to Kenyon College for the Total Performance Invitational on Thursday, November 29-Saturday, December 1.
