Mianzo Wins Both Board Events at Carnegie Mellon Invitational

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's diving team hosted the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17 with competitors from Allegheny College, Rowan University, Washington & Jefferson College and Westminster College.

Sophomore Maddie Mianzo (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) qualified for the 2019 NCAA Zone Diving Meet after her score on the 1-meter board surpassed the qualifying mark. The sophomore won both diving events during the invitational with scores of 419.55 on the 1-meter board and 408.90 on the 3-meter board.

Fellow sophomore Lillie Widmayer (Potomac, Md. / Winston Churchill) placed second on the 3-meter board after a score of 353.20 points while junior Megan Roche (Old Bridge N.J. / West Windsor Plainsboro) scored 341.25 points to place fourth on the 3-meter board.

The Tartans will have off for Thanksgiving before traveling to Gambier, Ohio, for the Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational on Thursday, November 29 – Saturday, December 1.
