Women’s Swimming and Diving Honored by CSCAA for Academics

The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as 11 individuals were also named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.

Six Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were selected for spring initiation into the Upsilon of Pennsylvania chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. The induction ceremony took place on May 11.

Xu Closes NCAA Championships with All-America Finish

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s swimming and diving team concluded action at the 2023 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, March 17 with freshman Savannah Xu earning All-America honors. The Tartans placed 15th with 68 points, tying for the highest-ever finish and with the most points recorded at the championship meet.

Kuramoto Brings Home Second All-America Finish

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s swimming and diving team continued action at the 2023 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, March 17 with junior Kelli Kuramoto earning her second championship trophy. The Tartans now have 49 points and sit 16th out of 32 teams with one day left to compete.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s swimming and diving team earned another finals finish during the second day of competition at the 2023 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday, March 16. The Tartans now have 36 points and are in 16th place with two days left to go.

Kuramoto, Schwallie Earn All-America Accolades at NCAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s swimming and diving team began competition at the 2023 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday, March 15 with junior Kelli Kuramoto and senior Emilia Schwallie earning All-America honors and the 200-yard medley relay making the finals to kick off the championships with 28 points for the Tartans.

Fifteen Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III, nominated by members of CSC, for the winter season. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) rebranded to CSC in the summer of 2022.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s diving team had three competitors at the 2023 NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Championships hosted by Ithaca College on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25. Junior Kelli Kuramoto earned automatic qualification to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships by winning the 3-meter board on Friday night.

Tartan Women Earn 10 Invites to NCAA Swimming Championships

Ten Carnegie Mellon University women's swimmers have earned the right to compete at the 2023 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. A team led by freshmen performances all year will have seven first-year athletes competing with three seniors leading with experience. The championships will be hosted at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, on March 15-18.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s swimming and diving team placed fourth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships which concluded on Saturday, February 11. The Tartans finished with 1,090 points, set two more school records, and witnessed another individual UAA Championship on the final day.

Tatum Hits Qualifying Score at Westminster's Rich Sentner Invite

Carnegie Mellon University sophomore diver Kyndall Tatum competed in the Westminster College Rich Sentner Invitational on Saturday, February 4. Tatum competed in an 11-dive competition on the 3-meter diving board against a diver from Division II Clarion University, earning the top score of the afternoon.
