Bio

Myles Oliver joined the Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s swimming and diving program as the new full-time assistant coach in September 2017. Oliver joined the Tartan staff from Kings College in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.

Oliver's presence on the pool deck helped the Tartans achieve two men's relay records, four women's relay records, and four women's individual records. The team's also competed nationally with the men finishing 36th and the women 15th, the highest finish for the women in program history.

Oliver spent the 2016-17 season as a graduate assistant coach at Kings College where he also served as the coordinator of various aquatics programs open to the public.

Oliver hails from Greensboro, North Carolina, and was a four-year scholarship swimmer at NCAA Division I Clemson University where he competed in the nationally-recognized Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Oliver’s success in the pool includes being a member of Clemson’s record-holding 400-yard freestyle relay team. He represented the team four years running at the ACC Swimming Championships and achieved top 10 times in Clemson history in three events.

Prior to starting his role at Kings College, Oliver, who has a degree in business management, worked as a Branch Banker for BB&T. He also served as a swim coach with the Greensboro Swimming Association and a financial assistant at Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Passionate about numbers and working in a team atmosphere, Oliver has also volunteered his time to help with numerous community service projects including charity fundraisers.
