Cecil Impressive in #4 Tartans' UAA Semifinal Loss

(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) – The 4th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team fell to #6 University of Chicago 8-1 in the semifinals of the 2012 University Athletic Association Championships Saturday, April 28.  The championships this season are being played at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.  The Tartans are now 16-4 while the Maroons improve to 18-4.

Carnegie Mellon's lone point came at first singles when sophomore Katie Cecil (Huntington Beach, Calif./Ocean View) defeated Kendra Higgins 4-6, 6-0, 10-3.

The Tartans will now play #11 Washington at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 29 for third.
