Tartan Players ITA Regional Runs End in Semifinals

(FREDERICKSBURG, Va.) - Two Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis seniors played in the USTA-ITA Southeast Regional Women's Tennis Championship Semifinals on Monday, September 22, falling to opponents from Johns Hopkins University.

Bryn Raschke (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) started the day's events against Johns Hopkins sophomore Ashnaa Rao. Raschke's appearance in the semifinals marks the farthest she's played into the tournament in her four years as she fell 6-0, 6-2.

Angela Pratt (Saratoga, Calif./St. Francis) faced off with sophomore Jody Law of Johns Hopkins and battled before dropping the contest 6-4, 6-0. The appearance in the semifinal was also Pratt's first, as she fell in the round of 16 twice during her career.

The two will be back on campus with the team to face Oberlin College in a dual match on Saturday, October 4 starting at 9:00 a.m.
