Tartans Fall to Division I Duquesne

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked 12th in Division III, took on Division I Duquesne University on Sunday, February 12 at Alpha Tennis in Harmarville, Pennsylvania. The Dukes won the match 7-0, as the Tartans are now 5-1 on the year while Duquesne improves to 5-2.

The No. 3 doubles team of junior Katie Lai (Hagatna, Guam/St. Andrew's Episcopal School) and sophomore Jamie Vizelman (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) won their match 6-2 but the Dukes took wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to earn the doubles point under Division I scoring rules.

Carnegie Mellon will be back on the courts on Saturday, February 18 when the face two Division II opponents in Indiana University (Pa.) and Seton Hill University. Both matches will be played at The Club Sport and Life in Monroeville, Pennsylvania.
