#9 Tartans Fall to #11 Amherst to Close Spring Break Trip

(CLAREMONT, Calif.) - The ninth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team closed spring break action in California with a 7-2 loss to 11th-ranked Amherst College. The Tartans are now 12-3 for the season.

Senior Katie Lai (Hagatna, Guam / St. Andrew's Episcopal School) won twice for the Tartans as she paired with junior teammate Jamie Vizelman (Highland Heights, Ohio / Mayfield) at third singles for an 8-3 victory. The senior later won her singles match at the fourth position by a 6-2, 6-3 score for her fourth straight win.

The Tartans will next be in action on Saturday, March 31 when they host Washington and Lee University at 1:00 p.m.
