Taylor Honored by UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Danna Taylor (Orlando, Fla. / Circle Christian School) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance over the weekend at the Tartans annual invitational against Division I Duquesne University.

Taylor earned a 5-1 record, including two wins in doubles play. She paired with sophomore Janabelle Wu (San Jose, Calif. / Lynbrook) to win 8-4 on Friday while she earned an 8-2 win with senior Courtney Ollis (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern) on Saturday afternoon. Taylor's singles victories came against Margot Pessy, 9-8 (6), on Friday and over Laurel Shymansky and Meredith Lee on Saturday. She topped Shymansky 7-6 (1), 6-4 and Lee 6-4, 6-3.

The Tartans will next be in action on Saturday, September 14 at the Kenyon College Invitational.
