Tartans Finish Play at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship

(NICHOLASVILLE, Ky.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team competed at the final day of the 2022 ITA Women's National Team Indoor Championship on Sunday morning. The Tartans dropped a 5-2 decision in the fifth-place match to MIT. Carnegie Mellon is now 6-3 overall while MIT is 3-1.

The Tartans trailed 2-1 after doubles play earning the point at the two spot. The duo of senior Janabelle Wu (San Jose, Calif. / Lynbrook) and freshman Crystal Zhou (Austin, Texas / LASA) won 8-7 (6) over Sarah Pertsemlidis and Megan Guenther.

Senior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif. / Poway) recorded the only point in singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Seraphin Castelino at third singles.

The Tartans will be back on the courts Thursday, March 8, with an 11:30 match against Christopher Newport University at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
