Taylor and Zhou to Continue NCAA Doubles Run in Semifinals

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – Junior Danna Taylor and sophomore Crystal Zhou advanced to the semifinals of the 2023 NCAA Division III Doubles Championship after a victory in the quarterfinals on Saturday, May 20 in Orlando, Florida, at the USTA National Campus.

The junior and sophomore duo, seeded fourth out of 16, topped Kamila Wong and Jay Xiao of Johns Hopkins University by a 7-5, 6-0 score.

Taylor and Zhou are the fifth Tartan pair to advance to the semifinals and the first since Lauren Chen and Courtney Chin reached the round in 2011. The Tartans will meet Brooke Despriet and Katherine Petty of Sewanee for the third time this year on Sunday, May 21 at 12:00 p.m. Despriet and Petty won the two prior matches by a 6-4, 6-3 score at the ITA Cup in October and an 8-6 score during the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in March.
