Spalding Receives Second Straight UAA Athlete of the Week Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – For the second straight week and third time in the past four weeks, Carnegie Mellon University senior Sasha Spalding (Springhill, Fla./Springstead) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Field Athlete of the Week following her performance over the weekend at the Ohio State University Tune-Up on Friday, February 20.
        
For the second consecutive week, Spalding broke the school's indoor long jump record with a leap of 5.51 meters to place seventh overall and first amongst Division III competitors.  Her jump continues to keep her ranked tops in the University Athletic Association (UAA) and is currently 16th nationally.

The Tartans will next travel to Chicago, Illinois, for the UAA Championships on Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1.
