Spalding Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior Sasha Spalding (Springhill, Fla./Springstead) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Track Athlete of the Week following her performance over the weekend at the Washington and Lee University Track and Field Carnival on Friday and Saturday, March 20-21.
            
Spalding continued her stellar senior season on the track with another record breaking performance to open the outdoor season. Although placing second in the 200-meter dash behind a Division II runner, Spalding broke a 10-year-old school record when she crossed the finish line in 25.73 seconds. Spalding also jumped 5.11 meters in the long jump to finish fifth at the meet.  

The Tartans return home to host the Carnegie Mellon Mini-Invite on Saturday, March 28 with events beginning at 10 a.m.
