Kiekhaefer Tops Own School record in 1,500m

(NAPERVILLE, Ill.) – For the second straight meet, senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team set a new school record in the 1,500-meter run at the North Central College Gregory Final Qualifier Friday, May 15.

Kiekhaefer finished fourth overall, topping her own school record she set Monday at the Swarthmore College Final Qualifier.  She crossed the finish line Friday with a time of 4:32.28, bettering her time by more than three seconds.

The top 22 times qualify for the NCAA Championships in each event.  The final day to compete prior to NCAA invites is today and Kiekhaefer's time currently ranks 15th.
