Cook Garners UAA Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Junior Sarah Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's outdoor track and field team received two weekly honors following her performance at the Washington and Lee University Track & Field Carnival on Friday and Saturday, March 17-18. She was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for running events as well as Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Corvias South Track Athlete of the Week.

Cook crossed the finish line with a personal-best time of 2:16.96 to win the 800-meter race. Her time currently is tops in the UAA and fourth in Division III. Cook was also part of the 4x400-meter relay that placed second with a time of 4:14.58.

Carnegie Mellon will be back in action on March 24-25 when they host the Carnegie Mellon Invite.
