Tartans Compete at Last Chance Meets

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team sent one athlete to the Polar Bear Final Qualifier at Ohio Northern University and one athlete to the Tufts National Qualifying Meet. Following the University Athletic Association Championships and last chance meets, the Tartans expect to send one athlete to the NCAA Indoor Championships in North Carolina.

At Tufts, senior Kate Reilly (Scranton, Pa. / Scranton Prep) ran to a time of 5:15.16 in the mile placing ninth overall.

At Ohio Northern, senior Michelle Karabin (Ruffs Dale, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic) placed third in the pole vault clearing 3.52 meters.

The Tartans will now wait to see the qualifying lists for the NCAA Indoor Championships at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14. The list will be announced late Sunday night.
