Four Personal-Best Marks Lead Tartans at SRU Bill Lennox Invitational

(SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at the Slippery Rock University Bill Lennox Invitational on Friday, April 16. Four Tartans recorded career-best performances on the day.

Freshman Kavya Tummalapalli (Plainsboro, N.J. / West Windsor-Plainsboro High School) placed 12th in the 800-meter run in 2:37.15

Freshman Megan Baker (Exton, Pa. / B. Reed Henderson) placed seventh in the 1,500-meter run with a personal-best time of 5:25.14.

Freshman JoJo Huczko (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) tied for fourth place in the pole vault clearing a personal-best height of 3.38 meters.

Francine Leung (Port Jefferson, N.Y. / The Stony Brook School) bettered her top long jump mark while placing third with a leap of 5.14 meters. The sophomore also participated in the triple jump and finished eighth with a mark of 9.53 meters.

Senior Ally Tully (Chappaqua, N.Y. / Horace Greeley) led the Tartans in the hammer throw with an eighth-place showing and a heave of 38.37 meters. Junior Agnes Zhou (Fremont, Calif. / Mission San Jose) threw the element a career-best 36.00 meters to place 13th.

Both Huczko and Leung hold the top spots on the team in the pole vault and long jump, respectively.

The Tartans will continue competition this season on Saturday, April 17 at Robert Morris University.
