Leung Records Two Personal-Best Marks at Penn State-Behrend Invitational

(ERIE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team headed north to Erie, Pennsylvania on Sunday to take part in the Penn State-Behrend Invitational.

Sophomore Francine Leung (Port Jefferson, N.Y. / The Stony Brook School) tied her career-best mark of 5.14 meters in the long jump to place second. She then finished third in the triple jump with a career-best leap of 10.11 meters.

Sophomore Liz Barre (Ithaca, N.Y. / Taft) won the 100-meter hurdles in a personal-best time of 15.67 while graduate student Joanna Baranowski (Syosset, N.Y. / Syosset) won the 400-meter hurdles in a season-best time of 1:06.48. Barre turned in a fourth-place showing in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.78.

The Tartans will be next host the Carnegie Mellon Field Event Classic on Friday, April 30 before competing at the WVU Mountaineer Twilight Invitational on Saturday, May 1.
