Tartans Compete at WVU Last Chance Meet

(MORGANTOWN, W.Va.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team headed south to Morgantown, West Virginia on Saturday to compete in the West Virginia University Last Chance Meet.

Senior Ally Tully (Chappaqua, N.Y. / Horace Greeley) took second in the hammer with a toss of 40.48 meters.

Junior Kristen Seballos (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) crossed in 4:51.83 in the 1,500-meter run while junior Taylor Jacobs (Bozeman, Mont. / The Taft School) finished the 800-meter in 2:20.56.

Sophomore Liz Barre (Ithaca, N.Y. / Taft) finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.00. Graduate student Joanna Baranowski (Syosset, N.Y. / Syosset) crossed right after Barre in 16.33. Baranowski then ran to a season-best time of 1:05.69 in the 400-meter hurdles.

Sophomore Francine Leung (Port Jefferson, N.Y. / The Stony Brook School) recorded a career-best mark in the triple jump of 10.22 meters. The sophomore marked at 5.02 meters in the long jump.

The Tartans will compete at the All-Atlantic Conference Championships on May 19-20.
