A Handful of Tartans Compete at All-Atlantic Region Championships

(PITTSFORD, N.Y.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team took five members to the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by St. John Fisher in Pittsford, N.Y., for a two-day competition. Those five athletes helped the team finish 22nd.

Junior Taylor Jacobs (Bozeman, Mont. / The Taft School) finished eighth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:20.17, just four one hundredths of a second off her career-best time.

Junior Kristen Seballos (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) placed eighth in the 5,000-meter run in a career-best time of 18:25.92.

Sophomore Liz Barre (Ithaca, N.Y. / Taft) was ninth in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles just missing qualifying in a time of 15.74.

Graduate student Joanna Baranowski (Syosset, N.Y. / Syosset) took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a season-best time of 1:04.71.

Freshman Jojo Huczko (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) cleared 3.22 meters in the pole vault to tie for ninth place.
